Meet the Cast - Amy E. Harmon - ALL GIRL FRANKENSTEIN closes Dec 14th!

Amy E. Harmon is dangerously thrilled to be working with the Mammals again, having previously appeared as Ahab in All Girl Moby Dick. Currently serving as the Babes' Managing Director, Amy is also a charter member of the Sans N. E. Sleep Cooperative, a former Advanced Actor/Combatant with the SAFD, a fledgling djembe/dunun geek, a cat-lady-in-training, and the proud wife of the singularly excellent Jeff Lisse.

Meet the Cast - Sasha Walloch - ALL GIRL FRANKENSTEIN thru Dec 14th

Sasha is thrilled to be making her Mammals stage debut in this wonderfully prurient production. After 9 years acting in the Twin Cities, including 3 seasons as "13" on the local TV show Horror, Inc., Sasha set out to brave the Windy City 3 years ago, and never made a better decision. Since then, she's worked with Dream Theatre Company, First Folio, Clock Productions, Oracle Productions, and even broken her foot in a stuntman class (and lived to tell the tale). Sasha would like to thank Bob Fisher for his faith, the brilliantly talented cast and crew for being so dang impressive, and Chicago's greatest gift to her, Justin Warren for being her evil moon god - and cooking her dinner after rehearsals.

ALL GIRL EDGAR ALLAN POE - CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

ALL GIRL EDGAR ALLAN POE - CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

All women theatre artists are invited to submit proposals to the Chicago Mammals for inclusion in our ALL GIRL EDGAR ALLAN POE FESTIVAL

With our previous All Girl Project productions, the Mammals were able to create singular and thrilling opportunities for a dozen female artists at a time.  This project offers the potential to multiply those opportunities, possibly into the triple digits.

We are accepting proposals for performance pieces based upon any of the writings of Edgar Allan Poe.

Proposals should adhere to the following criteria:

  • All projects must be proposed by a female artist who will lead the creative direction of the adaptation.
  • All performers involved in the project must be women
  • Men may collaborate, so long as the primary artists involved are women, and the majority of artists involved in each project are women.
  • The Mammals will consider dance, solo monologues, plays, puppetry, short video, performance art, music – all performance types will be considered
  • Pieces may be as short as a few minutes or as long as 60 minutes

TO APPLY:

Submit the following, via email to themammals@gmail.com, no later than January 30, 2014:

  • Your resume
  • A brief artist bio, no longer than a paragraph, including anything you might want us to know that isn’t in your resume
  • A brief proposal/synopsis of your idea for an adaptation of any Poe work (no longer that 2 pages), including the name of the work, the style of the adaptation you have in mind, length of performance piece,  and how many performers you will likely need
  • Contact information and any major conflicts you might have in the summer and early fall of 2014

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We will select finalists who will be given a 3-5 day workshop at our space, Zoo Studios, in the summer of 2014 before final selections are made for inclusion in the Fall 2014 Festival.

The Mammals will provide rehearsal space and time, stage management, a unit set , a unit light plot, and access to a costume designer.  October through November of 2014, the performance will run in repertory at the Zoo.
